1946 CJ-2A Austin, Co eBay

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The auction on this CJ-2A is almost up (or may be done by the time you read this).  This CJ-2A has a most interesting feature, a CJ-5 body has been grafted onto the back of a CJ-2A body.  I will admit, from the pics it could have ended up looking worse.  The seller neglects to mention this, whether purposefully or not is unknown.

“1946 Willys CJ2A, New brake shoes, hoses, master cylinder and wheel cylinders, new fuel tank, line and carburetor, new tires,  This is a clean Willys. the only thing that does not work as far as I can tell is the emergency brake. This comes with bill of sale only.”

I wonder if a regular flatfender top would still fit? Looks fine to me but I wonder what kind of issues it might create? The obvious advantage is that mud from the tires would not fling up between the tub and top since the top would be inset on the ridge.

That’s a good point. Offhand, I sure can’t think of any reason a standard cj-2a/3a top wouldn’t fit.

That’s one of the things that has always bugged me about the top design for flatties…..Road crap is flung in between the top and body and gets inside sometimes.

It’s just occurred to me that the stripe I’ve built along the sides will help keep that from happening .. maybe parkette never intended to strengthen the body with the side stripes, but rather to use them as deflectors …. hmmm

I thought of that too when I posted my last comment……That your side stripe might act like a deflector.
