UPDATE:  SOLD

“The Jeep runs great. I’ve had this for several months, and it was (and is), a fun little toy to drive — definitely a head-turner! Just a few days ago, the Jeep experienced a problem of getting out of 1st gear. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not a mechanic, so I had a someone do a visual inspection, and he informed me that the transmission will need to be dropped and checked out.”

Below are the pics at the time of sale.  You can see some pics from when this flattie was first purchased a few months earlier here.

That price looks inviting. Dexter should tow it to Willys America on Saturday. He will for sure get some bites for that rare gem.

I don’t trust just any mechanic to tell me that you need to drop the tranny. Most experienced mechanics with Jeep experience are long retired. The new buyer should take the top off the transmission. It’s probably a simple fix in the shifting mechanism. The shifters on those are less than modern, and may be an easy in-the-vehicle repair. (If Dexter takes the top off and finds the little problem, he’ll probably just keep the Jeep. lol.)

I hadn’t noticed that. The engine sits pretty far back. I kind of wonder if there is some kind of adapter between the tranny and tc that would
