The Sunbelt Antique and Classic Automobile Company & Museum at Las Vegas, Nevada, has several Willys.  I think you’ll find the last one most interesting …

First, we have this beautiful 1946 Wagon:

Here we have a couple pics of a 1948 Jeepster:

And now we have this beautiful ‘1943 Military Jeep’ …. Seriously, here’s the sign!  Sure lookings like a militarized CJ-2A to me.  See more pics as well. I sure hope they didn’t pay too much for that!

Well, I missed the lights entirely; But then, I thought they looked good enough on there that I didn’t question them.

The 46 wagon would have the fixed vent window and the small hubcaps.
The Jeepster has non-original turnsignal lights and rear lights and the reproduction hubcaps which are not even close to the original ones, like the ones on the wagon..
If it’s going to be a museum piece, it should at least be authentic.
By the way, only CJ’s came with outside fender hood latches, seems like everybody adds them for some reason.

Looks like the 2A is losing some serious oil for a display car.

But what the hell, it’s Las Vegas. Seems like there are alot of distractions from the details.

as for the hood latches…… all the pics of ww2 jeeps i’ve seen including brc’s, gp’s and mb’s have the hood latches as well as the window latches. seems like they’re one of the few ” authentic” details on this jeep.( unless i’m mistaken about the interpretation of outside hood latch; the thing keeping the hood down?!)

I was responding to Dave’s comment about the hood latches on the Jeepster and Wagon. He said those didn’t come with latches, which is not something I knew (never worked on a Jeepster or Wagon, which is usually how I learn these things).

All the 1/4tons (mbs/gpws,cjs, etc) come with latches or the hood flies up! 🙂

I been there & done that in a newer 78 model CJ5 ,, hood came up At 50 mph bent the windsheld & smacked me in the nose,, The 7th time it was broke,,, I always put new hood latchs on any jeep I buy,,,& I use them ( I forgot to latch the 78cj)

A lot of museums rework cars for static display. When you see cars/trucks with oddity’s added you have to wonder what’s under the paint. For the most part the Henry Ford Museum has adopted a policy of no-repairs or restores to their vehicles. When a vehicle is added to the collection it is cleaned and put in place as it came off the street.
