(04/20/2011) This was completed by the folks at Vintage Offroad. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the yellow steering wheel.

A two year body off restoration and the left front fender appears bent? Paint overspray is on the instruments, the running gear is dirty and rusty, the left rear brake line is interestingly routed, the three speed shift boot isn’t even attached to the floor and the mastercylinder cover is loose on the floor, etc., etc? This is nowhere near a restoration, it’s got a shiny paint job but that’s about it. I do like the color.
Paul, that’s a great review and a keen eye. I wonder why the undercarriage is so nasty too? Seems to be a lot of holes in the body also. I know some belong there for the spare tire mount, but there are plenty of others. Is the m-38 the most iconic jeep ever? I was thinking that would be the MBGPW. If the M-38 is so iconic, does not this one deserve to be put back the way it was made.
Howdy Bob. The M-38’s I’ve worked on had the spare tire mounted on the tailgate along with the Jerry can, I don’t know why there would be spare tire mount holes on the right aft corner of the body. Also, the ebay listing claims this Willys is a 1982 Toyota FJ43 Land Cruiser Wagon! That’s quite a modification to make a Toyota into a Willys. Is an M-38 iconic? Geeze, I don’t know. My M-38 was outstanding …whenever it quit it was outstanding on the road, outstanding in the field, etc.
I am assuming that the FJ43 info was mistakenly entered? The company appears to restore mostly FJs rather than Willys.
