Roberto pointed out that it was International Women’s Day and shared some old pictures of women and their jeeps, some you might have seen and others you might not have. The first one is a picture I found on Flickr.
Cool Photos…do you suppose women worked on the assembly line in skirts? Looks like a setup shot, but it is very cool.
I wonder what the deal was with the Jeep balanced on the four bottles?
The dresses on the Willys assembly line are unusual, I would have thought that would make it easy for clothing to get hung up on vehicles and or parts being assembled.
Also noticed how few blondes there were back then as compared to today.

Josh … Did all the Ford GPs have the Ford body stamp? I ask that because the photo you reference was incorrectly labeled by someone else as a Ford GP.

Ford GPs did have the ford script on the rear panel.
I guess it never occured to me that most of the jeeps were made by women 🙂 Haha gotta love them girls even more for that now.
