I was watching an old wwii movie (can’t think of the name) they winched the jeeps and trucks up the slope backward which I thought was unusual. It was a movie but then that may have been the army way? Of course one of the truck got lose, maybe they found out it crashed better winching back end first.

On a side note burning crosses were FIRST associated with the KKK in the 1929 movie about the civil war. Now if you are doing a night scene and you need some source of light wouldn’t burning crosses make a nice light source. We get a lot of our culture from the movies, a sad fact.

I’m not sure it’s so much sad as it is a reality of the role media of all types play in our minds. For example, if you don’t know anything about the Titanic, it’s easy to let the images of James Cameron define and shape that event. If you have never been to Colombia, it’s hard not to see it as a den of crime and drugs based on movie and media reports (Sebastian can offer an alternative view). Even for movies themselves, if you have never been on the set of a movie, it’s hard to imagine what it is really like vs. the reality constructed on film.

I could go on, as I find the topic fascinating and wonder how much of my own perception of the world has been incorrectly shaped by the media, but I’d burn too many cycles I need for other things 🙂

    I love picture #3.

Just shinny up that tree with 50 foot of cable and a block and tackle and a loop of chain to attach to the tree. And, oh yeah, shinny back up it to remove everything.
