Boy, I hope somebody appreciates what we see here, a first edition 3B with Factory Accessories, stock as she can be. Up here in Rust Belt Maine we don’t get starts like this, an original Black Plate CA Baby. Choose your color and what a straight CJ3B you’ve got, without endless dice and splice panels. I’ve shipped these across country for less than 2 grand. You can’t beat that CA Iron. Thanks to Dave for exposing us to the likes of this.

Oh, In case you don’t know, Grass Valley is East of Sacramento on I-80 about half way to Donner Pass. When I was trucking in the 80’s my cousin lived there and had a Cute Red Jeep. The CA Chain Law would hold us until a storm passed or we had chains enough for our rigs to get over the top, about 50 miles. Several trucks would pool our chains to get legal, and CUZ Tom would take Red Jeep over the top to bring the chains back to the next guy. Sounds crazy, but you do what you have to do to Keep on Truckin’. I’ve seen trucks sit at Grass Valley or on the other side West of Reno for several days waiting to get through. CUZ Tom had to defend his abode to get rid of me.

Donner Pass on I-80 has to be one of the great memories from my trucking days. The history of that spot is especially important for all to remember, whether in covered wagon or semi. From mid August or May could really screw up your schedule dealing with that stretch of road, just 100 miles from Sacramento to Reno, we were at the mercy of the weather demons. That Red CJ5 saved the day. Glenn
