Tom Sterndale was wondering if any knows the numbering system behind these Navy APU Hood numbers. Thanks to Aron for this great photo.
They look a little like Air Force tail numbers where the first two are the year the money was appropriated (can be quite a while before delivery for airplanes) followed by a meaningless serial number.
Does not explain the “94” though. Perhaps those were ship numbers?
