I would just like to post a comment on this Jeep as I was lucky enough to see it up close ,hear it run ,and see the trencher in action . I went to my friends house to pick up a load of misc PTO stuff ,some cool factory power lock units and see his CJ5 Trencher before it was listed and sold. After loading up my parts and taking a bunch of pics of the trencher I was wishing I had my trailer and some extra cash to buy the Jeep . If I weren’t Knee deep in way to many other Willys Jeep related projects I probably would have!!! The pictures really dont do this Jeep justice . I have seen a bunch of these Trencher Jeeps ,and this one is as nice as I have seen. The mileage is somewhere around 6000 miles and it sure seems correct as the Jeep was never registered or driven on the road much. Its very complete and unmolested. The PTO and Trencher assemblies are all complete and in great working order. Original Novi governor still intact and complete. It even still has its original steering wheel lock in place. To someone looking to restore an early CJ5 with a really cool factory approved piece of equipment on it this would be a hell of a start. Would also be perfect just as is working again on someones property or as a cool working truck for a business or back on a golf course where it has spent most of its life. Without disclosing my friends reserve on this I will just say that its very very reasonable for a time capsule this original and complete. Someone is gonna own a really cool little Jeep!!!! Thanks again for the cool parts Mike and showing me the Trencher . I wished it were mine!!!!

This is a cool old thing. I’d forgotten about the steering wheel lock. I ran into one of these two weeks ago, just the trencher, but don’t know what I would do with it.

Well I WAS the owner for many years. I snatched it away from the golf course boys telling them “That’s A Piece of Willys History. Go get a Kubota.” The video doesn’t show one of the best features, The Creeper Gear which worked perfectly. You had to sight by a pole to see it move. The description above is right on and the new owner got a nice deal, considering what he paid me for it, Transported it to CT. and a bunch of work also. I hope she lands in a nice Willys home.
