UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2100.

Runs, but needs work.

“1948 cj2a jeep runs good drives but needs breaks. IS NOT STREET LEGAL. To make it street legal it would need turn signals, windshield wipers, and seat belts This didn’t come with any of the above and that’s why it doesn’t have them. It needs some body work but isn’t horrible, ive bought a lot of new parts for it to make it a trail runner ie…. bigger rims and tires but will come with originals as well, roll bars bikini top with everything needed to mount, fog lights brush guard, street legal windshield glass which has been installed, shackle lift kit new bushings for leaf springs, and im sure im forgetting some other parts. anyway would be a really nice and easy father and son project and once breaks are fixed and street legal then a nice daily driver(easy on gas) if not familiar with cj2a think WW era jeeps that’s what it looks like.”

Are the laws in Texas different WRT vintage/historical vehicles? I have to use hand and arm signals when driving, but I have AZ historical plates and NO “turn signals, windshield wipers, and seat belts” and I’m driving on the streets here. You’re not allowed to remove such things, but if it never came with them, you’re not required to add them, to my knowledge.

TX is the same way. If it wasnt orignal to the vehicle it’s not required. To pass inspecton its just a safety inspection. The inspect brakes, headlights, brake lights, and wipers. If you register it as a historical vehicle an inspection is not required.
