“Vintage slide in wrecker unit. made by canfield. was on a jeep truck.Turn your pickup truck or jeep into a tow truck. Goes in pickup box. Factory made. I know the last two owners. This was purchased used in 1967 or 1968. I don’t know the year of manufacture. This has been on a 3/4 ton jeep, a new 1975 chevy 3/4 ton and a 1996 dodge 3/4 ton.

This is 49 1/2″ wide at base. Base is 90″ long. Base is made out of 4″ x 4″ angle. 48″ tall frame in front. Boom is 102″ long and length is adjustible. Boom pivot point is 23″ from front of base. Good condition with no broken welds.

Comes with sling, not pictured. Comes with braden winch. I don’t know the rated capacity of the winch. 3/4″ winch cable is rusty and should be replaced. Winch was pto driven but could be driven with a hydraulic motor. The pto is not included. The pto turned in one direction and the winch is reversible. winch has a reversible gear mechanism. you must stop the pto to change the direction of the winch. Move a lever forward to wind in cable, move the lever back to let out cable. Winch mount has been modified for a different winch I was using. To put the the original winch back on you would have to make spacers out of flat stock. Sling needs new belts. Hand winch raises the boom. Hand winch is in working condition. This unit was in use until february 2014. I would sell the unit and keep the winch if you don’t want it.

Buyer can pick up locally or arrange freight shipping. I will take the base apart and put the boom straight up. It will fit on a 4’x4′ pallet and will be 8′ high. I can load with a forklift. Auction may end early if item sells locally.”
