Brett, they are hydraulic line brakes. That is it on the firewall in the 2nd picture.

Aren’t line locks for doing burn outs? Or do they have a more legit purpose?

I had one on a tow truck when I worked for a towing company. Made the truck not move when doing recoveries. E-brake would not hold as well.

Oh yeah, you all reminded me know back in the day when I had a 80’s Subaru. It had a similar feature. When you pressed the clutch pedal and the brake at the same time, then released the brake while still holding the clutch, the brakes would be held. Made it great for hill starts.

Thanks for the explanations. I was just starting to understand until Bob said “racing”. I get the whoa applications… but how do line locks help you go?
As for the jeep itself: I wonder if an eWillys reader got it?
