“1942 Willys MB Slat Grill Jeep.  Serial no. 111847.  Date of delivery is unknown as the main data plate is missing.  Recently purchased from the estate of a long time collector and was found in San Antonio, TX 25 years ago.  Jeep is not running and has not run in many years.  Engine turns over freely and jeep rolls easily.  No obvious cracks in the usual places on the engine.  The engine serial no. is S38361.  It is an original chain drive WWII engine and has a Ford GPW head and water outlet.  Probably replaced by the Army.  Engine has all the early Willys manifolds, orig WO carb. etc.  The body has rust on both front quarter panels and there is a patch in the passenger floor board.  There is little to no rust in the rear tool boxes.

The frame is spectacular no damage, no welded on bumper.  It is near perfect with original gussets and no rust.  The rear crossmember is bent  on one side.  The best WWII Jeep frame that I have ever seen.  Has original GAS and AMMETER w/30-0-30 face.  Jeep sits high and level.  Has Ford GPW springs on the front and the original Willys 9 lear springs on the rear.  It does have a torque reaction spring installed.  Jeep has 4 excellent original combat wheels.  Please study the pictures of the parts.

All of the parts pictured are included with the sale.  Just to mention the highlights.  6 early solid wheels, early Sheller original steering wheel.  New skin for the windshield and an early square fuel tank well (I think made by J. Geesink of NZ)  Complete set of Beachwood seat cushions with crash pads, LH and RH front quarter panels, Early exhaust system w/brackets, Complete Vintage Wiring wire harness, reprint manuals, Dash pad kit, NOS hand crank and Shovel, Fuel line and Brake line set, NOS upper windshield strip, NOS tail lights w/grommets, NOS light switch, NOS spark plug set, NOS Ign. cable set, Used but original early 25 AMP voltage regulator, Original Jack, early green rubber hood block set etc. etc.”

Looks like it sold… eBay redirects you to a ’51 M38. There is a note when you click to see the original posting: “This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.”
