Nice Jeep curious about the nine slot MB grill with recessed headlights instead of the 7 slot CJ2a/3a grill. I’ve not seen that before. To your knowledge is it original?
    Thanks

Highly unlikely that grill is original. I thought they ran out of MB grills (did Willys use any surplus GPW grills or parts?) in late 45 or early 46. But it IS a nice touch. Always loved the WWII signature grill.

Not original. At the time it would have been illegal. The 7″ lights were mandatory on autos sold in the US starting around 1940. Then, in the 50s, the laws were relaxed to allow dual 5″ lights. So, Willys had to change up the grille for legal reasons. In addition, Willys had to change to the 7 slot design because Ford claimed to have rights to the 9 slot grille, just like Ford fought for rights to the ‘jeep’ trademark.

Interesting that this jeep is listed on several c-list sites in Ohio.Hard to say where it is located.I am not saying that I think its a scam.I do see a map of Kenton shown.
