Driving Down Black Bear Pass

John forwarded this video. The music seems perfect and the comments are hilarious. If I took Ann down this hill, I’d be hearing the same things. She can’t do heights. In fact, I think I’d be doing this one solo. It’s still on my list to drive.

Classic. watched the whole video, this man has the patience of a saint. Every time she started to talk, all I could do was laugh. Dave, I would do a solo run also. My wife would be at the bottom waiting to tell me it was too dangerous. LOL

Why the wife should be prohibited or muzzled – how this guy did it – not the road, the wife???? And he has to live with her!

I especially enjoyed the line “Should I put my seat belt on now?”

This video is an example of why I could never take my wife down this trail. She could be Elsie’s twin, except my wife would constantly be saying “I’m closing my eyes now.” and then not close her eyes and scream every time we came to a narrow area.

Oh……I laughed so hard ’til I had tears in my eyes and my stomach was aching! I really needed a laugh today. Awesome!

Thanks Dave, For those of us far away: Where are we? I’ve seen such sights in Alaska and on Old 66 west of Kingman.

Great video , what happens when you get half way down and the roads blocked . Love the comments along the way made me fill like I was in the jeep with them , that is the exact words I would have used.

My dad drug us up there from the Imperial Valley in Ca one summer in the early sixties to spend a week in Silverton, then a ghost town. We had a real new (1960 Willy’s CJ-5) Jeep that we brought along to go exploring in. One of those trips was over Black Bear pass to Telluride. I understand that now you can only go down from the pass. Back then we went back up and over. There was a huge rock outcropping of rock at the top that you had to get over. Dad tore the exhaust system apart trying to get over it. I remembering him having to patch it back together with several steel beer cans and baling wire. I also remember that being one of the scariest roads I have ever been on. And, if you’re wondering, yes, I have that Jeep…….
