“Up for sale is a unique WWII jeep. A numbers-matching-original 1942 Ford GPW Script. It has been painstakingly restored using an excellent, rust-free original body, the original Willys style (Midland) frame and completely rebuilt factory correct Ford engine and drive train. This jeep is tight and drives like new. Everything has been restored mostly with original or NOS (new old stock) F-marked parts.

The jeep was found in California close to the Richmond plant and was probably used domestically by the U.S. Army which would explain the excellent original condition of the jeep when discovered. Date of Delivery is likely around March 3, 1942 which makes this a VEP (very early production) and first contract jeep, rolling out of the Ford production line during the second month of production. This jeep was manufactured with the Midland frame, which also supplied frames for the Willys MB. It is characterized by a tubular front cross member as opposed to the more common GPW style square cross member which was used shortly after the production of this jeep. This jeep also has a Willys style front bumper, which came with the Midland frame. This makes it very rare.

As well as factory original frame, body and motor, during restoration the original factory hood numbers in blue drab was discovered and restored in its correct and former location. Other markings such as battle star, shipping labels and unit designation will be up to the new owner’s discretion.
Seats and top are new Beachwood canvas. Tires are new Firestone military non directionals on the stock combat wheels.

This jeep was restored for reliable drivability and I would drive it anywhere. The radiator and water pump are brand new but the original GPW marked radiator and GPW marked water pump along with correct Carter 539 carb will be supplied with the sale. However, these will need rebuilding.
Listed price is much below cost of restoring this vehicle and I am selling it because of a move to Europe next year.

If you are interested in a correct WWII jeep that drives like new and retains its value, this is a good option for you.
