UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3300

Not clear if it runs or not. Has rear PTO.

“1948 Willys CJ2A. Has the PTO that shifts and turns freely. Has all 5 original 16″ wheels. Body has very little rust and is a very nice restorable body. The hood is beat up but fixable and the windshield frame is really solid. Body, frame and serial numbers are 152754. Tub ACM is 141992, I can’t see a tailgate ACM. Engine is 3J 29374. I have the title that was signed off from the original owner but the engine has been swapped out so it’s sold with a bill of sale and I’ll include that title. Email any other questions. Thanks for looking.”

Wow! If someone is looking for a nice original jeep or a great restoration, this would be an awesome choice. So much originality. It’s hard to hide any body work when it has original paint. Check out that tailgate stencil and all that top hardware. Both steps and an original chaff screen. I would love the opportunity to see this in person, but I need another 2a like I need another hole in my head. Dave, sounds like the title might have used the engine number instead of the vin. I think one should always use the vin. That way, if the engine gets changed, you still have ownership for the vehicle. Would you agree? Also, looking at how soiled this little guy is, I’d say this is a barn find. It’s too dirty to have been sitting in his garage. Someone is going to get a great jeep!

Todd. It certainly sounds like the title probably reflects the engine number. Since title laws vary so much by state, I’m not sure how this situation would effect a vehicle in North Carolina. If the title is pegged to the engine I wonder how difficult it would be switch to the VIN.

Dave, the reason I questioned the title is because I recently purchased a ’53 high hood from an estate. I had a good feeling for the folks so I wasn’t worried too much. The old title was tagged to the engine on the water pump boss. I took it for inspection to the ISP and filed out all the paper work. The jeep did have the firewall tag. After quite some time and effort, I finally received my new title! That all it takes in the great state of Idaho.

I love seeing that stencil on the tailgate. Reminds me of my high hood…they’re only original once

Oh hey little brother, welcome! This does remind me of that awesome 3b I begged you to buy. See, aren’t you glad you went clear to CO to pick up that beauty? You’re welcome. If this was a model we didn’t have, I would like to go on another road trip with you. I think it’s a gem…

Yeah, Idaho and Washington state are pretty easy (the two I have the most experience with). Guys back east tell me it can be very difficult in some states. I hear most complaints about Ohio and Pennsylvania.
