“For sale is an extremely clean 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. This Willys Jeep came from Tucson, Arizona where the original owner purchased it new in 1948 and lived there until he decided to sell it to a gentleman in New Mexico over 10 years ago. After the Jeep came to New Mexico it had an older restoration done back in 2004. Soon after the Jeep was restored the owner drove it, and used it pretty regular so It’s not in show room quality anymore, but it’s still in amazing shape for its age. It has the original and very reliable 4-134 L Head Go-Devil engine that was completely rebuilt and runs excellent, also this Jeep is still running the original 6 Volt electrical system with a brand new battery that works flawlessly.

This Jeep also comes equipped with a T-90 3-Speed Manual Transmission, and a Dana 18 twin stick transfer case, it also has the Dana 25 Front Axle with heavy duty locking hubs, and the Dana 41 Rear Axle. The engine, drive train, 4×4, brakes, etc. All operate great with everything working as it should. The headlights, taillights, and dash lights are all operational as well. This Willys Jeep will cruise comfortably on the highway easily doing 60 to 65 MPH, and runs great just cruising around town as well.

The body is very straight with no rust, dints, or body damage anywhere, other than the two regular small rust spots under the tub where the tub mounts to the frame on the passenger and drivers side, this is a common area for all Willys to rust, and is a real cheap and easy fix. The paint is still in great shape but has some scratches, chips, and small dings here and there in the body but nothing major at all.

The frame is solid with no signs of rust or rot. The frame was stripped and painted gloss black along with both front and rear axles along with all the other components in the undercarriage for a nice clean look. This Willys Jeep has the original trailer hitch with ball still attached and mounted. Five brand new Firestone Military NDT Tires were installed a few months ago on the factory wheels and have less than 50 miles on them.

I also just installed a brand new bumper as well as a new windshield wiper kit on the Jeep, as well as a new drive belt for the engine. The Air assist windshield wipers work great, and the windshield has no cracks whatsoever. The interior of the Jeep is in amazing condition still. All the gages work as they should, other than the fuel gage gets stuck sometimes at a ¼ tank. The tool box under the passenger seat is in perfect condition which is very rare. The seats still have the factory OD Green canvas seat upholstery under the tan seat covers.

The OD Green steering wheel is original and in perfect shape as well. The inside was bed lined black but has started to fade and chip in some places, but in all is still in good shape. This Willy Jeep is a blast to drive and would make a great restoration project or just enjoy it as I have done fixing it up little by little while still enjoying it and driving it. This is a very clean Southwest Jeep and whoever gets it will be very happy with it.

Looks like a nice jeep. Looks great from the whole body pics. But when you get close up you see issues that shouldn’t be on a $10k+ jeep. The taillights look terrible recessed on this jeep. I understand why people do Bedliner but I don’t like seeing it in these flatties. The steering wheel is also too early for this jeep. Not a big deal. The seller seems honest and is trying to fully disclose everything.
