I want to thank you for you site and comments! I spotted this cool little “wrecker” a few weeks ago and, as I am only an hour away, I figured I would take a look. I went in with no expectations due to it being a northeast vehicle. Well let me tell you….It was pretty decent! The frame was solid, the body was OK and the seller had done a lot of work to it. Pretty much unmolested! He was a straight shooter Willys guy and we made a deal. I learned to drive on a ’46 in our backyard at 11 years old and have always wanted one again. By no means is it showroom quality but it was in really good shape for being that old and northern NJ/NY. The story goes that it belonged to a garage in Lower NY state and lived most of it’s life there moving vehicles around. After 2 additional owners, she came with me. Still needs a bit of TLC, but ready to go for the most part. Will need some advice from the message board soon, though! Have to get the learning curve down!
    Thanks! Paul

    Hi Paul,

Congratulations on the new jeep. I agree that it looks in good shape for a northeast vehicle. Given the extras, it sounds like it was priced fairly, too. Have fun with it! I’ve updated the post.

Possibly Someone has a hoist like this sitting around and would be willing to sell? Probably save me a lot of time. Thanks
