UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.

This was for sale back in 2013. Relisted by same owner.

“It’s time to let the old guy go. This very vintage and patina’d Ford GPW has had many great seasons wheeling the gold country. It’s literally logged thousands of miles throughout Nevada, Placer, El Dorado Counties and more. This is a turn key runner driver that is just plain cool. Willys Engine and trans, also Willys axles, but still plenty of cool Ford Script pieces like the seats. This rig has done a little of everything from daily driving duty to he Barrett Lake Jeep Trail. It runs smooth like a Singer and has never left the owner stranded. Pressurized cooling system, 12 volt upgrade, big brakes, and some other period correct mods. This would be great for parking at the cabin or towing behind the RV. Helping my AARP friend sell so call AJ and I can assist with viewing, ”

Even though I’m not sure I understand the seller’s concept of “period correct mods”, I like this a lot just the way it sits. Might not be worth taking back to original anyway… buy why bother: upgraded steering, electrical, brakes, cooling system, air filter, seat cushions, roll cage and some lift.
Alas, no full floaters in the rear anymore.
What’s that cool steering wheel off of?
Is that a lighter where the orig parking brake was on the dash?
Interesting windshield mods with a nod to its Ford heritage 🙂

That steering wheel looks like it might have come from a 1930 or 1931 Ford Model A.

Paul I think you’re right and the steering box is likely Ford as well. Isn’t it Kaiser Willys that has a Ford Steering conversion kit in their catalog ?

Peter, I replace the original steering box on my Willys with a Saginaw manual box. I also ordered a conversion kit to adapt the steering column to the Saginaw box (I forget where I purchased this kit) but the kit was so crude I replaced most of the parts with better made parts from Borgeson. I also replaced the original steering column with a five position tilt column from Ididit. I don’t know anything about a steering conversion kit from Kaiser/Willys.
