“I am selling my 1948 Willys CJ2A. It is a project vehicle. This is the most fun vehicle I have ever driven.

It has been sitting a while in the garage and I haven’t had any time to putz with it, so it doesn’t start right now. That’s the usual story though. Normally it is a little starter fluid, charge battery, wiggle some ignition wires and she does. Needs new exhaust, radiator, electrical, brakes ( master cyl) speedometer and parking brake cables and tires. I drained the gas tank a few years ago and it was orange so I imagine there is some rust in the tank. 2 wheel drive. No top.

Like I said, it’s a project. But it is super easy to work on and a ton of fun to drive. Please take a look at all pics and email or text me if you have questions. Unless you are asking if I will take less. I will negotiate, but not over email or text. I will only consider lesser amounts if you actually come to take a look. Thanks.”

This isn’t a 1948, it does have the speedo that is consistent with the early 56-57 maybe early 58 DJ3As, as it does go up to 9. Floor shift makes it unusual. and possibly rare. Might have a serial number close to Glenn’s Miss Willy, as both have a floor shift. Tried calling, got an answering machine. will try later. Bet the serial number is early 56 though. It does have a windshield for an M38, seat frames for who knows what. Enough green paint to indicate it might have been Jade Green and possibly a convertible, given the brackets on the top of the tub behind the rear seat, but without the right windshield might be hard to tell. Looks to have a rear seat out of a CJ5.

Not sure about the convertible (tailgate?) but betcha you’re right on the year.

Note even though it’s a 9 speedo it’s a King Seley 9 instead of a later Steward Warner 9. Even though it’s a fuzzy picture the shiny part in the middle of the pointer gives it away.

Steward Warners pointers were completely orange. (there’s quite a few other differences too but can’t be seen or verified from this distance)

Note, It’s still 6 Volt. The W/S frame is like Miss Willy’s (56337-10488) . Sure would like to get that S/N.

I have noticed that windshield frame which is identical to the M38 units on several DJ3A. I wonder if Willys had a bunch of them left over and decided to used them? No, that would never happen with Willys!!! They never threw anything away and if it could fit another vehicle, it got used.!! I would like to know the serial number as well.
