The serial number 453 EC2 22971 indicates this is a late 1953 475 4 cylinder F-head 4WD pickup, not a 1950 model. It still has the small rear window, but the tailgate does not have the WO imprint, which occurred in 1954. it has the interior door handles rather than the push buttons of the 1950 models. The grille appears to be of the 1954 design with no fresh air vent of the 55 and later models.

I agree with Colin… I even tried to tell the owners of this pickup that the year was incorrect when this was sold at auction here in PA. Nobody listens.

It’s an easy fix at the title place… the state will fix it.

Lol @ Bill. I hear ya. I feel like I encounter that on Facebook. On multiple occasions owners have posted vehicles, either unsure what they have or incorrect on the model. I attempt to explain to them what they have and why it is so, only to have other Facebook folks chime in with guesses and dumb comments, which just confused people. My favorite is the owner that refused to accept his jeep wasn’t a military jeep (it was a CJ-2A).
