“Buy a Willys, sell a Willys. Been looking for a little CJ2A, couldn’t find one exactly like I wanted, bought this one about a month ago, drove down last weekend and picked it up south of Livingston, this morning one showed up about 5 miles from my house so I went and bought it. It’s more what I want but of course was also more money. Need to sell this one.

This blue one is for sale. It’s had a lot of miles on it but it should run, I have the carb for it; guy said they had it running for years, sent the carb off to have it rebuilt and never got around to getting it installed again. CLEAR MONTANA TITLE. It’s an F Head, 12 volt, alternator and has a really cool winch on the back that is PTO powered. Has what looks like factory PTO. It also has a really well done cab on it and a defroster and wiper setup that may be shop made but was very well done if it was. The tires are decent, the body is pretty solid considering that it’s pushing 70 years old and the PTO is really cool. It has a little lever that sticks up just behind the shifter to engage it. I would guess you could pull yourself right up a mountain if you can keep the engine running. Or drag logs out from the bottom of a canyon. Or a BIG bull Elk!! Think about that. This is how guys used to hunt!

It has obviously been running and driving fairly recently, it has an alternator and was converted to 12 volt, most of these were to get them to start better in the winter. It has 56 county plates on it so it must have come from Eureka or up north somewhere.

Like a lot of these this vintage, it has some rust in the floor pan, doesn’t look terribly bad, get yourself and your kids a little cheap wire feed, an old Chevy hood and cut it up to make floor pan patches. Or just put some heavy cardboard under the carpet. That’s what a lot of people do just before they sell one.

Located near Helena, Montana on I-15. $2000 or offer. I want it gone. No place to store all these Willys. Needs seats and TLC!! Or get it running, take the top off and give it to the kids to play with. Let them paint it and have fun with it. Don’t you just know a couple kids about 12 or 14 would love to have a Jeep to get running and drive around the pasture? They could go climb hills and just have a big time. Generally speaking these things are so gutless they won’t go fast enough to get in trouble with but if there is anything in the world more fun than hunting Gophers from a little Jeep Universal for a couple kids with .22’s I’ve never found it. It was good cheap fun when I was a kid 60 years ago and it’s still good cheap fun. “

Nice write up. I think the seller has lots of stories. Not a good idea to give kids a .22 and have them shoot gophers in a jeep in this day in age. The jeep will need plenty of work and non original engine isn’t running. Heck, i through an offer out there for parts so we’ll see what happens

That Rear Mount Ramsey setup is a very scarce item. You can just see the PTO gearbox to turn the winch. Don’t think he’ll own it long.
