“For Sale
1943 Willys MB
$12,000
Located in Carthage, NY

This is an original WW2 Jeep brought over from Europe in 2010. It was restored sometime in the late 80’s to early 90’s in Belgium. I bought it in Germany from one of my high school teachers in 2005 and over the years it has become part of the family. I have put a lot of time and money into this vehicle and hate to see it go but my life has taken an unexpected turn and the wife says I can’t sell one of the kids so here it is.

Good:
Original WW2 Jeep
Has a siren
Complete Tech Manual book; great resource for Do-it yourselfers like me
Has aftermarket turn signals; required by law in Germany in order to drive on the street
Drivable; clean and clear title, currently registered in South Dakota but located in New York.

LOTS of extra parts and canvas pieces to go with it; i.e. canvas half doors, windshield cover, hand woven tow rope, camo netting, full set of brake drums, extra alternator, starter, grease gun(currently mounted under the hood), first aid kit box(empty, mounted under dash), two jerry cans etc.

New spark plugs
New belt
New water pump
New thermostat
New brake master cylinder
Recent cooling & brake system flush
Bad:
Abundant surface rust that should be addressed before it worsens; very little rot is present relegated mostly to the windshield inner frame.

Tends to overheat when idling for too long. My belief is that this is caused by a poorly tuned carburetor and/or poorly adjusted timing.

Leaks two drops or so of oil from the front of the engine when parked

Dings, dents, and scratches galore

I’m not interested in trades, I’m not selling any parts separate, and I don’t need assistance selling. If it doesn’t sell I won’t be heart broken. I’m looking to pass this on to someone who will give it a new lease on life. ”

For those who might care, Carthage, NY is adjacent to, and right outside the “back” gate to Ft Drum, NY.

Very nice looking jeep, I’m keeping an eye out for a driveable one for living history. My dad is rebuilding a ’43 GPW right now, I’m sure he could help me with some of those minor issues. Is the price firm?

I haven’t seen this relisted recently. It either sold or the seller is waiting to relist on Craigslist in the spring. I’ve updated the post. If I see it again I will drop you a note.
