Body looks pretty good. I think it’s sitting on another chassis. It has control arm suspension up front and the lug pattern looks like 5 on 4 1/2…
The frame looks to be an original 2WD with the Planer suspension. I have one under a 48 Wagon right now and am looking for another. That frame IMO is a hard one to find. If I were closer I would pick it up just for the frame.
I totally forgot about planer suspension and never seen one before. What do you think about the lug pattern size? There is a modern wheel on the back… or did it come that partern size? Thanks wayne!
Todd, I need to dig in to mine next week but I think they were the 5-51/2 At least i hope they are but will check and report back when I find out.
It looks to be original Mine as some after market wheels on it as well. Its a crazy looking unit for sure. Would love to have another. I have a 47 2WD panel and a 48 2WD wagon that I would love to have the original frames and suspension for, The frame is also a U-Chanel design and not the standard C-Chanel.
Its getting hard to find 2WD frames for these Willys.
Wayne, I thought they were all 5 on 5 1/2, too. The rear wheels look like early 2000 ish ford explorer and I know those aren’t the old jeep pattern…beats me!
I will check on mine this week. I know the one I have here has the original rear axial. Someone may have done some work on this one before parking it in the weeks. If I get time this evening after work I may just run out to the shop and check now that you got me thinking about it.
Well boys, I have the 2WD frame all restored, POR painted, brakes, suspension done, ready for your body. I bought an unfinished 1948 2WD Wagon project for the nice motor. While laying around, scrap iron thieves got into the pile, and it will never be a Wagon again. Love to see this great chassis under a STOCK Wagon / Panel. Glenn, you’ve piqued my interest: has Dave posted your restored chassis for sale? Or does it lend itself to a post with pics? Good luck with it. I’ve lost a few too many valuables to thieves/”tweekers”… so I can empathize: sorry to hear about it 🙁

That pretty new engine is now in my Miss Willy, the 488 th DJ3A produced. Just email me, I have lots of pix. The price now doesn’t count. Junk Thieves got a bunch and hopefully a Willys Wagon lover can benefit from at least some of what’s left.
