UPDATE:**SOLD**

I took a look at this. I can send some other pics (Ann took them, but she’s busy at the moment so I can’t add them). If you have questions, drop me an email or contact Frank (see info below).

Frank and I tried to start it, but it didn’t start. It turned over strong and I verified a spark. It was getting gas, so I suspected it was flooded (and it was very cold outside). After I left Frank told me he was able to start it. It has a four speed and comes with an extra four speed (unsure of condition).

The front floors have a few holes as seen in the pic below (passenger side). I did not find any holes in the back rear corners.

Frank told me his brother had several jeeps. He may have assembled this DRW out of some of those parts or it may have been assembled by the previous. The issue is the serial number of 61568 23017, which, as I understand it, is a for an FC-170 rather than a Dually. Were FC-170s converted at the factory? I didn’t check for serial numbers and didn’t learn about the serial number issue until after I left.

From original ad: This FC is being sold by Frank King.  The jeep runs and drives, but does need a spray of starter fluid to get going. The owner fixed up the exterior, but didn’t touch the interior. It includes an FC-170 bed that wouldn’t have been original to the dually. You can contact Frank at 509 999 6544 or email him at Frankckingatty@aol.com.

This is the truck(S) I was going to buy and when the weather cleared at the beginning of 2014 but the owner backed out of the handshake deal and said he sold it to someone in Spokane. http://www.ewillys.com/2013/11/29/1960-dually-fc-170-brewster-wa-750/ This is an assembled vehicle from at least three different trucks. The bed went with the SWR Forest service cab, 4 speed and running boards. I had asked the seller to put me in contact with the buyer as there was extra parts. But that never happened.

I just talked to Frank. There are no extra parts except the bed and a seat. He doesn’t think any other parts or another truck was part of the previous sale. So where did the other stuff go?

Blaine, that kind of thing makes me so mad. I can’t tell you how many people will back out of a deal like this and think nothing of it.

Last year I spoke to a gentleman about a wagon on here. I was the first caller (3rd day) and we spoke for over an hour. I over nighted a check to him and he promised me he would hold it, that he wasnt the kind of guy to go back on his word, he was old school, etc. The next day I get an email that someone walked up with cash so he sold it. A week later I got the check back in the mail. I guess a bird in the hand… but at least a guy like that (or yours) could have had the courtesy to call and tell us what he was going to do. I have been sick about the one I lost since then as it was exactly the one I had been looking for years for. It just further motivates me to be one of those folks who call back, honor handshakes, etc. OK, done ranting.

Some people put their stuff up for sale, just too find out what’s it’s worth and not selling. Sent Frank a few text messages over the last 2 weeks and not 1 reply. So I’m thinking he doesn’t really want to sell it.

Dale: I’m going to look at this on Saturday so that if buyers are interested I can give them feedback. Frank’s been very responsive to me via email, but I have not tried texting him. Frank is serious about selling this jeep. It’s not his to keep. Moreover, as executor it’s his job to sell it and maximize the price he can get.

Price is partly mine and Steve E’s fault. After coming up with the original thought on the value, I figured out that I knew some of the history on this truck and after looking at more pictures (I have some I took just over a year ago when it was Forest Service colors and had a snow plow set up) we decided the value was a little lower than first thought. But who knows what it’s will sell for? Sorry Frank.

Dave, my mistake when I said I sent Frank text messages. I was sending him e-mail. Sorry about that. But still haven’t received any response from Frank.

That vin number doesn’t match the truck. It happens all of the time people swapping vin plates and titles. If someone buys it just better make sure someplace it has a vin plate and it has the same numbers are are on the title. Don’t think it would be an issue at DMV but the FC guy buying might want the correct vin place.

Dan H. go back to the first comment (mine) which will explain that I talked to/met the guy who put this truck together.

I saw your comment Blaine. Wrote the seller asking if the vin matched the title, here was his response,

I live 3 hours away from the truck. I did not compare the VIN on the title to the truck. I used the VIN on the title when I listed the truck on ebay. I guess since you have an issue with the title, you shouldn’t bid on this truck.
