“This 1948 Willys Pickup is in solid working condition and has served as both a daily driver and utilitarian vehicle regularly. It starts perfectly and reliably. It has a 12-volt system. I am selling it because we have moved to a smaller place and do not have the room to keep it. To my knowledge the vehicle has been in central and northern California for most of its life. The vehicle has little rust.

Quite a bit of deferred maintenance has been done and addressed in the last few years. The engine has been thoroughly cleaned and the truck comes with spare parts. After much research, I suspect that some of the parts were interchanged with CJ-2 or CJ-2A parts over time. Whenever I came across this, I tried to replace with the correct parts as discrepancies were discovered.

Recent maintenance.
Radiator rebuilt and new hoses. Note: After much deliberation and research, I believe that the radiator is actually a CJ-2A radiator that someone swapped. It works fine, but just so that you are aware. Should you decide to buy a Willys Pickup radiator, there are inexpensive options on eBay.
New thermostat
New 12 volt Hi-torque starter. This truck has a 96 tooth flywheel (FYI, I counted.)
New water pump
New fuel pump and some of the fuel lines replaced.
New battery
Brakes flushed and new front brakes
New front axle seals
Rebuilt steering box
Rebuilt carburetor
New plastic fuel tank and float
Valves adjusted
New oil canister. It came to me with an un-identifiable canister from not-a-Jeep
New horn, but it is not finished being installed, and I ran out of time and energy to address it.
New steering wheel bought but horn assembly not installed.
Regular oil changes. The odometer does not work, so I changed it every 6 months, even though this was only about a few hundred miles.

A few things to note.

There are a few, small rust holes in the floor boards on the driver’s side (see last three pictures).
The odometer and original instrument panel does not work. It would have to be rebuilt. However, there is a working ammeter, oil pressure gauge, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge.
Spare parts.
A T-90 transmission.
A T-90 Novak rebuild kit. The box has not even been opened.
A Dana 18 transfer case. I was in the process of rebuilding the transfer case and set the project aside. Unfortunately the case and some of the parts got wet and have surface rust.
A Dana 18 transfer case rebuild kit. Did not get wet.
A set of steering knuckle seals.
Two extra fuel pumps that could be rebuilt.
Rubber seals for hood.
Rear end
Front end with locking hubs
A set of doors
One rear fender:

    Hi Mickey,

It looks like the ad either expired or was deleted. I’ve updated the post. If I see the truck relisted on Craigslist I will drop you an email.
