Chris’ all stock CJ-3B

(Idaho) Todd is visiting his brother (Minnesota) Chris this week. Apparently, they got talking about eWillys, which lead Todd to drop me a note with some pics of some their jeeps, which evolved into another email with more pics. If I weren’t so busy with the book, I might have kept sending emails until they ran out of photos to send me 🙂 Together they have owned over 70 jeeps, so they have plenty of photos to share, so check them out below. (I hope I got all the captions correct!)

While picking up a jeep, we literally stumbled upon the American Pickers shop in Iowa! Yup, we were lost…

This is Todd’s Tuxedo Park IV. His son-in-law is driving, while Todd’s daughter’s enjoy the ride. He must REALLY like his son-in-law to let him behind the wheel!

Our 3b used to be my father-in-laws. He bought it from the Willys/Kaiser dealership when it was just a few years old. My wife learned how to drive in it. He gave it to us almost 20 years ago where we took it down to the last nut and bolt and restored it. Then both of our daughters learned how to drive in it. When my brother got married, he wanted a ride home in it.

2 years ago, it carried my oldest daughter and my new son-in-law to the house after their wedding.

Wow Dave, that was really nice of you! I hope we didn’t steal too much cover space. My brother and I are honored to be part of the ewillys family. It’s great to have our love for family, friends, faith and jeeps shared with everyone. Believe it or not, there are even more jeeps. We have O.I.D. (old iron disease) really bad I guess. It’s been a real ball doing the “jeep thing”. Thanks again Dave for the thoughtfulness!

Nice to put a face to frequent commenters ( which one is which ). A lot of nice jeeps. Is the moved gas tank on the Renegades a factory option, looks nicely done?

Hello Mark S., so I would be the better looking of the two (or the one driving the high hoods)! You have sharp eyes on that fuel tank. I’ll try to do the guys over at the earlycj5.com page proud… the restored 1970 Renegade 1 has a build date of September 1970. So it’s a late production ren 1, as evident by the tailgate, but the tank has been moved to the rear by this time. But, because of its build date, it is titled as a ’71. The other two Renegade 2’s are wearing there original paint, no tailgates, fuel tanks in rear and both have March build dates. Notice they have a plate covering the filler hole for under seat tank. I did question this being factory, but after my second ren 2 with the same cover and both wearing original paint, plus seeing a few more, I know they are correct. I spent Eads of time over on the early page reading up on the tale tells. Jeez, those fellas are sharp! I was able to make educated purchases because of these two sights. Thank you again!

Yes, toddy you are the better looking one (this is what we had to tell him to build up his self confidence). We do enjoy jeeps. We constantly search for parts and jeeps and research them to death.

Todd, thanks for the info. It has been awhile since I’ve visited the early CJ-5 site. I know those guys have a wealth of info, especially on Renegades. I will have to make the time to read up.

Great post. Cool to see the Jeeps of two of my favorite Jeep people whom I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting in person yet!

  7. Joe in Mesa

They really DO exist! And together in one place.
    Great post and pics 😀
    Definitely “cover-worthy” 🙂

Very nice collection of jeeps, I really like the renegade II’s. You don’t see these every day. Nice picture of renegade in front of the pickers shop. Keep up the good work.

  9. Bill

Great Jeeps, guys! It’s good to see your toys out and about getting some play time in. Also good getting to do business with you all and even meet a few of you in recent years

70 jeeps. Just a passing fancy I see.

These are great you two, thanks. Add more pics if you have some. Todd it looks like you guys are up in the panhandle based upon the overlooking view. Where might you be? We have family in Spokane. Might have to arrange a visit some time.

Hi Lew, you guessed right. We are up in Sandpoint. There is a beautiful spot on the mountain headed up to the ski resort to take that picture. The spokane airport is only 80 miles away!
