UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $7500.

(02/08/2016) This was built as a dunes jeep.

“1954 willys cj3b. has been stretched to 92 inches. primarily built to be used in the sand. but has been licensed and insured for the last 15 years that i have had it. engine started as a mid 60’s ford 428 cu in……..as found in the kr500 shelbly mustangs. i took it down to bare block and built it to 435 inches with, 10.5 comp, aluminum edebrock heads, gear drive, comp solid cam, aluminum roller rockers, edel..broc performer intake etc. ended up with 500 hp. the trans is a built to the hilt c6 auto with b and m holeshot 2400 stall converter. has 5.38 rears front and rear. i originally built this motor for a shelbly close mustang or late 60’s fairlane to run brackets…..but work got in the way and never happened. needless to say this jeep runs on the street and in the sand very well. has msd billet distributor and msd7ml-2 ignition. which you can change rev limiter in seconds by chip change. will twist 7000 rpms…..but i run 6400 chip, car has gobs of torque.

i now run a 770 holley truck avenger carb that works excellant in the dunes. think i still have a custom 1050 double pumper also.jeep was completely rewired with a kit a few years ago and everything works. has a custom 5 core radiator with electric fan for auxillary. has trans oiler cooler with fan. jeep tilt wheel.

2 bucket seats with 3 inch harnesses. 2 stock under the seat gas tanks. street 33 inch tires on aluminum wheels. 16.50 paddles for the rear and 15.50 veritracs for the front. jeep still sits on leaf springs front and rear. rear end is a dana 44 postal with a detroit locker. the jeep is still 4 wheel drive and the front diff is a dana 30 with a power lock. for the doubters about the 44 and 30. i have never broken a front or rear axle in the 15 years of owning this jeep. it is a beast……on the asphalt i can roast the tires in 1st, hit second that will pin you in the seat with the tires still smoking and chirp them in 3rd gear.

i do have a spare set of rear axles i bought years ago and have never needed. in the sand this jeep is a blast. for lots of years i have run the dunes with 2wheel drive jeeps and stay right with the best of them. body is fair condition. has a lot of bolt and screw holes that i was always going to weld up and never did. also on the drivers side that could use some tlc with some bondo. years ago i did some rust repair and got into the bondo where the stretch was done. all in all this is a cool jeep that has been around a long time and still sounds and runs badass! i am 66 years old, have 3 jeeps, just bought a rzr xp and am thinning out the herd. by no means have to sell this jeep and am not going to give it away. i probably over the years have $20,000 in it. i think when i built the motor i put probably $7500 in motor and trans. is a shame to let it sit and would like to see it back out in the dunes.”

    Hi Rick,

I can’t tell if this sold or not. I’ve updated the post. If I see it again, I will drop you an email.
