UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $6500.

Michael spotted this DJ. It hasn’t been run in a while.

“Completely unmolested, clean, straight, no rust, no dents great barn find specimen. This is an all original, all numbers matching, 27000 actual mile Willy’s. Engine hasn’t run in a while but little doubt that it will. It odes turn over, it does have compression and fire. I took the Jeep for trade on some work I done. I have no place for it and no time to refurb.

This would be an incredible father son recon project. It’s all there. I even have the original jack, lug wrench and spare tire.

The right rear brake is locked up.
Title is current and clean. VIN 24242. Matching on frame rail and VIN tag.
Original color was white but it has been painted.”

The side picture looks funny – the body appears to be shifted back and the tires look small.

Dave, almost finished with ‘Slag”, I might get to a report this weekend. I’m liking it…

Thanks for the update Gordon. I already have a bunch of changes scheduled for the final version. I spent a week indexing the book and found a variety of inconsistencies. And, my aunt has another round of fine tunings that are necessary.

This is a May 1964 built DJ3A by serial number and we have it recorded in our DJ3A listing from earlier this year. It has the 13 inch wheels that the 1964 models came with. This would make a good restoration project.

That explains the odd look. Now that you mention it, I recall seeing that on other DJ3As with the small wheels.

We had have a friend that is looking for one of those 13 inch wheels and a plain dish hubcap like there to complete his own very original 1964 DJ that has been long family owned and he is bringing back to life. Not restoring at this time but keeping it as a survivor. He needs it for a spare. If anyone knows of one please contact me at charles_tate@yahoo.com and I’ll forward the information to him.

    Thanks
    Charles
