No such thing as a Ford MB !

Your jeep is a Marine jeep, not an Army jeep. Yellow letters and numbers, not white.

Looks like a Willys to me – no small holes in bumper.

Check the serial number on the frame (left front) and research to see what you have.

    Hi Richard,

Ford GPWs are sometimes referred to as Ford MBs. Not perfect vernacular, but is is in fact a Ford-built Willys MB design. That said, maybe I am missing something, but I don’t see where the seller used the term Ford MB?

While there are no holes in the bumper, it does have a Ford front cross member and Ford tool lids in the rear. So, it’s likely a Ford GPW.

The term “Army Jeep” is often used to refer to a WWII jeep by lay folks. The added yellow letters are clearly not original, so there’s no real evidence in the photos as to what branch(es) used this jeep.

    Thanks,

    – Dave

This was a steal and is already gone. The seller sold me a similar Willys MB. It has some rough rust and repair under tub but is otherwise real nice.
