“Hello, I have four jeeps sitting in the garage to be finished, and one of the dusty projects has to go. This is a 1947 Willys Jeep that is NOT currently running but will not take much to get it there. Clean and clear Kansas title with a matching ID plate.

Issues:
-The jeep has run and driven recently with the previous owner, but it currently is not getting spark. The engine does turn with the starter/key and cranks and cranks and cranks, just no spark. So it is either the coil or the distributor rotor/points. From what I am seeing it looks like it needs a new distributor rebuild kit (points, cap, rotor) which is about $50. If it’s a coil that is about $35. But that’s just an educated guess

-It does not have active rust, but has had rust issues in the typical locations, but nothing that can’t be fixed. The floor under the tool box is gone (I usually weld or rivet some flat steel in), the front floors have been patched, and the bed has some holes that can be welded shut. Or just drive it the way it is, it is structurally very sound. Frame is strong.

– gas gauge is not hooked up to the sending unit, not sure if it works.

-one of the transmission shifter arms doesn’t have the threads anymore, so a bolt needs to be welded on for a handle knob or use a push style, or cut new threads, or leave it alone.

-The emergency brake handle is not connected to anything.

-hood is a little banged up, but functions well and sits straight.

Good:

-New hi-torque starter

-Headlights work. The tail lights and front marker lights and brake lights work, but aren’t currently wired. I may or may not get to that.

-The driver side wheel well has been notched to allow the driver’s seat to be pushed back. This is for all the guys with a rotund torso to be able to fit in comfortably, or long legs. I’m 6′ and my legs are fully extended and it sets very nicely.

-Windshield glass is good (no cracks) and the windshield pivots down onto the hood bumpers. There are air pressure driven drives for wipers installed, but no wiper blades and no idea if they work.

– Brake pedal is pretty firm and stops the jeep when rolling.

– Transmission and transfer case shift well, clutch seems to actuate well.

– A rare heater is installed if you ever put a top on it, and the fan does blow.

– Front tow bar is installed and it pulls very well. Bring a 2″ ball and pull it home.

This jeep would be a great starter project or get it running and use on the ranch or for hunting as is.

No guarantees on this jeep as it is a project, but should be a fun ride!”
