I’ve thought about using the diesel from my rabbit and mount the diesel in my CJ3B. The add has peaked my interest in a drop in diesel motor. I wonder how much a drop in diesel motor will cost? .

Just winter dreaming for now. Merry Christmas to All on the eWillys website.

Sure seems like an ideal engine for these. Maybe 1962 was the beginning of when these were available(?) But even so, why dont we see more of these in old Willys? Was the cost significantly higher?

Mark: The challenge is locating an engine. After Mitch’s died, he had a heck of a time finding another. I was able to locate one for him, but only one.

Lew: I have yet to run across information on the cost. But, Mitch really enjoyed the diesel’s offroad capability in his CJ-6. The downside was that with his hardtop on, the inside would get quite dieselly smelling.

Page four might be crowded, but I love that “versatility” graph and panel on the lower right ofpage 1.

I love the comment “The absence of carbon monoxide from a diesel’s exhaust gases make it safe for operation in confined spaces like mines, warehouses and airplane hangers”. What?!?

Dan: That versatility chart appeared on several brochures of that era. I might not have scanned them all yet.

Mark: I think they meant you won’t die immediately from a diesel’s exhaust gas. It’s more of a slow painful death from which Jeep doubts they can be blamed for contributing to your death.
