“1960 Willys FC170 with 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L / auto trans drive train.
Power steering, disc brakes, etc.
Engine / Head redone & like new. Runs & drives great.
Aluminum radiator – does not run hot.

Mickey Thompson Classic 3 wheels with Duratracs
Rough Country 6″ custom suspension
M105A2 modified truck bed
Custom roof rack mount with Baja Rack roof rack
JW Speaker Headlights
Rough Country winch and shorty bumper
Lightforce 240 aux lights – all lights and turn signals work
New wiring harness

This is NOT a show truck, it was built to be driven and used – it is however, extremely rare and very cool.
I do not drive the truck anywhere near enough to justify continuing to own it, and am turning my focus toward heavy equipment for other projects.

No trades, and the ATT tracks are not included in the $20K price. Well over $40,000 invested in building the truck- all custom built by Roam Automotive in Munising.

I don’t have to sell, I won’t give it away. If you’re serious about owning a true one-of-a-kind promotional rig, email me via C/L.”

Campers of that age usually have suffered water damage to ceiling and back window. Upper front corners commonly damaged from trees or garage entries. Lower rear corners usually damaged from backing. How did this last so long without any of that damage? Quite a find as a vintage camper and would have required little to be a nice show piece at tin can shows. Sorry to see it survived so long only to become just another frankenstein.

I can’t remember if it was this camper or not, but I know someone junked a camper that was on their FC because the interior was just too far gone. Sometimes these don’t look as bad in pics as they do in person.

Drive by this rig all the time on my way north. He runs tracks in the winter. Pretty kook.

Well ForwardFrank has found a new home! I made the trip to Munising 2 weeks ago to check him out and I could not resist a daily driver FC 170, so we picked him up yesterday and will drive him home tomorrow! This is the 4th Jeep I have bought due to reading ewilly’s! Keep up the great work David!!!!!!!

Matt how’s it working out as a daily driver?I’m still trying to decide on what drivetrain I want to go with. Have you found it to have adequate power at interstate speeds? Have you towed with it?

    Matt,
During the summer/fall I was driving Frank 2-3 days to week to work (40 miles round trip) and we both loved it. Now that winter has set in, I haven’t been able to drive him because there was no transfer case shifter or working wiper motor installed (vacuum wiper motor wouldn’t cycle more than 1 time in the warm weather and quit all together in the cold!). But these issues are being resolved via Christmas gifts! I hope to have him back on the road in a couple weeks.
As far as the drive train goes, he will do 60 mph on the freeway, but you are really pushing the 4.0L to 3200 rpm. He wants to cruise at between 50-55, so I stay in the right lane and enjoy the ride. Haven’t towed yet because there is no hitch! I will remedy that next spring.
I do like the 4.0L swap. You won’t get crazy tire smoking launches, but he starts right up every time and with the rad relocated behind the engine (inside engine compartment at the back of the cab), in traffic he will sit at just over 200 degrees on a 90 degree Michigan day, with the electric fan on full speed.

Thanks for the reply. My project is setting on a 95 f350 chassis with 6in lift and 37s. I’m just having a tough time deciding on the drivetrain. We have 80mph speed limits and I’d like to be able to cruise that. I sure don’t miss living in MI though, lived in Plymouth until 03 and can’t say I miss winters one bit. Do you have a thread on your updates of frank?
