are the seats and tail lights correct ?
The 2/3 1/3 seats were used in some DJs. I was wondering about the tail lights. I don’t think they should be chrome, but that style was used on DJs.
The late DJ’s should have the passenger side HALL Type lights on the rear with the foldable licence plate holder mounted on the tail gate.
Dinesh, that’s what I was thinking, too. But I do prefer the ALA lights 🙂
It does look very nice. The taillights are the same as the CJ3A and B models from before 1955 and Jeepsters from 48-51. Black body with chrome trim ring around the lens.
Those tail lights look more like replacement NACO tail lights than the VERY RARE….cast aluminum ALA tail lights. Halls are pressed steel and have one screw in the bottom of the bezel holding it on. ALA tail lights are much higher quality and have 2 screws each that go through the lens itself to hold it on. Replacement HALLS…about 45.00 give or take each. Replacement NOS ALA’s run likely $150.00 each IF you can find them. They are NOT reproduced!!!
That taller passenger side seat likely may have originated as a Willys pick-up seat or a Willys wagon rear seat. I’v seen that a lot before because in DJ3A’s passenger seats were a option. In my mind 100% correct 2/3 1/3 DJ3A seats should be equal height.
Several times in the above post I mentioned halls when I should have been substituting the word Naco in concerning these lights. sorry
