I am selling my 1959 Jeep to make room in my garage for a boat. This is also my first sale on E-Bay so I have added links to videos of the truck in the description below. The Jeep has been restored and runs well. I have owned the vehicle since 1997 and it has spent most of the time in my heated garage when not driven. I purchased it from a neighbor who did the restoration for his wife who did not like it and would not drive it. The restoration took place between 1996 and 1997 and cost him over $10k at that time.

The major part was an almost new engine that was put in out of a 1961 Jeep CJ that only had 6,000 miles on it and that was used for snow plowing at a funeral parlor. This engine was purchased from Ray Galassi Jeep in Chicago, one of the original Jeep dealers. When you hear the engine you will know it’s in excellent shape. The body was repainted at the same time but is now showing some rust spots and paint peeling. Many parts were repaired or replaced in 1996.

I have not used it in many years and this spring got it running again. I have added a new battery, cleaned the fuel lines, tank and carburetor and replaced the radiator overflow tank to get it running again. The stake bed is in fair shape with a few boards starting to warp and is made of wood with metal sides and frame. The passenger side glass is cracked. Tires are almost new. Overall the vehicle is driveable and usable the way it is. I have not done any major inspection of the vehicle and have only driven it locally on private dirt roads.

The vehicle was designed not to run over 40mph on a straight road and would be best running around 30mph off a main road. The low range is designed to be extremely powerful and would allow the Jeep to climb at a high angle! The vehicle is not currently registered and has been used on private land and roads. I have a clean title from Illinois in my name, as a truck. I also have the parts manual for this vehicle which is included in the sale. The Jeep should be trailer-ed away and inspected for road use. This Jeep would make an excellent promotion vehicle for a business, as there are only a few around and it is not often seen.
