    These oil filter brackets confuse me. Circle hole but no oil line brace opening on this one. But the 59 DJ3A listed on here has basically the same bracket but with the oil line support? Dave didn’t you come across curious variations of the brackets to such as oval opening vs oblong? Hmmm.

    The three types I documented were triangular (1950ish and earlier), oblong (some 3As and M-38s?), and circles (some 3As, some M-38s, and later). I currently don’t have specific time frames for when these were changed.

    I thought I had done a post about the three different brackets, but now I can find it … hmmmm.

    I thought you did back when you were working on Rusty and Patterson. This M38 doesn’t have s bracket hole for the oil line. It might have been broken off though I can’t really tell.
