“Up for sale is my 1961 Cj5. I bought this as a started project from a friend near Philly. It was an old plow Jeep he rescued. He had the motor rebuilt, and installed a new fiberglass tub on the original drivetrain. Windshield and hood is the original metal. The seats he had done in an awesome marine grade vinyl with the original springs being redone. A new exhaust was also on it.
Now what I did.
1. New paint and clear coat laid on her
2. Added factory style rubber matting front and back
3. Completely new fuel system from tank to carb
4. Rebuilt the factory gauges
5. Complete new wire harness from Walcks 4wd
6. Added 5 period correct tires and tubes
7. Installed an up to date heating /defrost system all concealed in the original areas by “Vintage Air ”
8. Tore engine down to install all new Felpro gaskets and painted it in a black and orange engine paint.

9. All new u-joints
10. New hi-torque starter
11. Just finished rebuilding the original T90 transmission
12. I added a New overdrive unit
13. Installed the original hitch system
14. Tore down rear axle to install all new inner and outer bearings and races including pinion area and carrier.
15. New clutch,( the larger optional) pressure plate and throw out bearing
16. Installed a Bestop Softop with split doors and zip out windows.
17. Parking brake redone.
18. All new gear oil in transfer case and tranny.
19. Also added a new steering wheel and all electrical switching to dash.
20. Gas cans , ax and shovel included
21. New electric winch added.
22. I also rebuilt a set of Cutlass brand free Wheeling hubs. These come with tool to engage .
23. Headlight guards, dash plates, Mopar authentic Jeep stickers installed are period correct.
24. New army green seat belts
25. All new shocks
I can go on!!
This is as old school as Jeeps come. I sold a Cj2a that I restored and basically everything but the motor and size of tub (Cj5 is the bigger body and frame) is the same.
I can get her up past 55 with the overdrive but it’s not recommended. Ha. Sold “as is”.
Price is firm. And sorry but no trades.”

I have to thank the last owner for the color. I repainted it the same. Actually my paint guy saved most of the color on it. Only had to spot paint. All the original clear coat came off. It was sprayed a little to dry originally.
