Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Our church is having a golden harvest dinner Sunday after service. Wonder what the golden harvest prises were?
Dave- do you have any idea what the willys salesman received when they got a golden harvest prize? For that matter do you have any idea what the willys salesman got durring other times of the year for sale awards?
According to the January 1955 issue, salesman Lee Hayek, Jr., won the contest. He was awarded a $1000 check and a Willys Deluxe Automobile. I don’t know if there were any other prizes.
I have documentation that other sales contests awarded vacations, a week’s vacation pay, other Willys vehicles (a Darin was one prize), gold watches, and more.
A 1956 contest awarded a “luxurious” European vacation to London, Paris and Rome.
