“1961 Willys 4X4 Overland Wagon. Rare ranch doors, the 226 Hurricane flat head 6 motor was rebuilt by A&F motors 3,500. and has no more than 1,000 miles on it. The engine compartment was repainted when the motor was rebuilt. The truck runs and drives great starts right up every time. Carb was rebuilt 6 months ago. I was in the process of restoring this vehicle but have to move in less than 60 days. Must sell. I restored a 1959 8 years ago and it brought 15,900 on Ebay.

This is an easy project does need body work and paint. You can rat rod it as is. That seems to be what everyone is doing these days. Nice interior and rat rod exterior. The side windows, seats frames. cushions, headliner are out of the vehicle except for the driver and passenger side windows and front windshield and both rear glass All the glass is there along with all interior side moldings. The side panels are in good shape and the oak floor strips are in nice shape and are solid. The left rear wheel well has some rust through about 9 inches long as seen in the picture.

I priced a patch panel to replace through Walcks 4 wheel drive and it would run 100.00 or you can do a fiberglass patch for the same price.. The floorboards solid are in good shape and the hood has a dent that’s an easy fix. I have a replacement hood that is ready to go on in very good shape. I have the head light bezels rims Chrome bars along with the the Willys hood emblem for the hood. The stainless on both sides are in good shape for there age drivers side needs a little attention but can be worked out and buffed to original shine.

The vehicle is registered through June 2018 and can be used as a daily driver now. This is a rare Wagon because of the rear ranch doors and would be a great project. The driver and passenger seat have been redone and ready to install. These are easy to work on. Parts are readily available for these Wagons. If your looking for a cool wagon here it is. Hate to sell this one but no room moving to new place. 6,500 OBO”

I wonder if this was a special-order wagon with the barn doors that Willys did in the 1960s. The yellow paint might indicate it was a school bus at one time.

Seller told me it was a school service vehicle. Still for sale and he won’t move on the price. Isn’t it a bit high? Maybe he doesn’t want to sell.

    Jamie,

I’d say the answer to your question is that it hasn’t sold yet, so the market thinks it is high. It seems like the body has a few rough spots, but it’s hard to tell for sure from the pics.

If it truly is a must sell situation, as the seller describes it, then the seller will likely have to drop the price.
