UPDATE: this is a follow up to my March 1st post (you’ll note there are some comments from some readers from that day).

I’m ready to order posters. The original was almost 28″ tall by 22″ wide. I’ve decided to make the final version exactly 28″x22″ rather than my initial 18×24 size. The printing is being done by the same folks who printed all our Alaska Or Rust stuff. They do good work. I’ve already received a  18×24 proof and it looks great.

The per poster cost means I would need to charge $20 for each poster. One poster would be $20 plus $5 shipping. Two or more posters means free shipping in the continental US. How does that pricing sound? I plan to order 100 posters, so the supply will be limited. I will be selling them online and in person as I travel around in May and at the Willys Reunion in May.

When you start selling these Dave if you have room go to Walmart and get some inexpensive 5 dollar frames. Or make sure the finished product will fit into a standard size frame.

I hope that these copies will be available to purchase. I sure would like one.
    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

    Can’t wait for the poster!

For printing, I’ll share I have had extremely good work done on multiple occassions from Gotprint. I have no skin in the game, so to speak. Just like their prices, quality and service.

Bob: yep, they do good work. And, I could pick them up in May rather than pay to have them shipped. I did order another round of eWillys stickers through them.

    Lew: Happy to do it.

Merlin: I hope all the text fits now!

Scottie: the number available will depend on the printing prices I can get, but I plan to make them available for folks.

Bob in NC: The reason I chose to alter the size slightly was to conform to a standard size. Walmart and others offer 18×24 frames starting at $10. They also offer 22×28 frames in case a person wanted to add a matte.

    thanks, Matt-

Dave, I’ll take one ! and I would still like to see some sort of “All Willy’s” event here in our state too !! (I brought it up to you last year) I also need to talk to you about wagon / truck parts…. I have quite a list I am putting together and wonder if you have any contacts that are currently building one of these vehicles.. I am not going to ask the price that they list for on ebay, but I don’t want to sell to someone who is just going to turn around a sell at a higher price for profit instead of actually needing the parts..

Guys: your response is very helpful! Much appreciated. I will get the posters ordered today. It will take a couple weeks to get here. I will email each of you to let you know payment options. Thanks for your support! – Dave

Rick: I too would like to organize something “all Willys” for the PNW. With Alaska or Rust over and future books pushed off for the time being, I should have more time to consider options on how/where to organize it. Questions include location (westside or dry side of mtns, camping or suburb/motels, one afternoon or multiple days) then there is the type of event (show & shine and/or swap meet and/or scheduled drive or two into a city or into light trails). Should the event be a one location or should it rotate to different spots. Should it be free or will a fee be necessary (to pay for a location for example). So, plenty of things to consider.

Bob: I purposely added a little extra space around the entire poster to allow for framing. Michaels offers three types of inexpensive 22×28 frames: http://www.michaels.com/frames/poster-frames/809188414#prefn1=framedMattedSize&pmpt=qualifying&prefv1=22%20in%20x%2028%20in
Walmart offers at least one size: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-22×28-Trendsetter-Poster-Picture-Frame-Black/14962483
