Gosh, it’s exciting to see a local Willys get National / World attention. Several local towns had Willys Fire Apparatus probably all provided thru Morrison’s. Ridlonville is only a local term from way back, hardly used today. The Morrison Family still are International Dealers today and have been friends for several generations. They’ll enjoy seeing this as well as the still active Farmington Falls Fire Dept. Thanks Dave for featuring it today.

Maybe someone there has some vintage pictures and oral history of this vehicle when it was in service??

That’s a little hyperbolic. You’ve commented over 250 times on eWillys and I’ve probably edited, at most, ten of them. But, it’s true. I expect a level of decorum on this site; if that means the site is ‘rigged’, so be it. I built it. I operate it. I pay for it. I expect comments that add to the quality of the discussion. Some folks are new to jeeps, while others are inexperienced, so this is a space to ask questions that expand folks knowledge (I know I am still learning stuff, sometimes from the most basic of questions).

You are clearly knowledgeable about jeeps and I appreciate that. And, of course, there’s room for teasing and joking, but insulting or attacking others won’t be tolerated. For example, your attacks of the Japanese are unacceptable, so yes, I edited them. There are plenty of places on the internet for those kinds of expressions. I’m just thankfully that 99% of folks make comments that don’t need monitoring.

Vernon, I like what you have to say, always on the cutting edge of sarcasm, pure genius. You have my admiration & respect.

Your drive on the beach in low, low gear. Steer it straight get out and sit on tail gate drinking a beer. I like that. Going to try it in a few weeks.
