That intake looks like something out of a science fiction serial from the 40’s. Just swivel it around to face the front, and you have an “ion cannon” (or some other futuristic weapon).

This could be the next generation of Shriner’s vehicle, but let’s hope not.

I like it…. This would be great for my sons to drive their buddies around in. Great beach buggy!

That is the damndest intake and exhaust setup I have ever seen on a Willys engine! The carb sitting way up high with a finger on the air cleaner and then that over the top set of headers. Not sure that would be street legal anywhere! The dual cowl feature is unique to say the least!

I do give the builder credit for originality…and build quality…that being said I think it’s ugly as a shaggy dog’s butt, but that’s just me…maybe with a different intake, a hood, a proper paint job, some upholstery, it would not look that bad.

My older brother a few weeks before they graduated bought an old gas station surburban type ride for 25 bucks. They painted it all up and drove it around for a week. After graduation they busted it up with a sledge hammer, set it on fire and dumped it in the river.

I could see using this in a similar mannor. Only problem is they are asking too much for it.

I think since Russ sold his yellow jeepster he should replace it with this one. I could see us going around roundabouts yelling klondike!!!!

Dumping an old car in a river is not very good for the ecosystem. Oil in the engine, differential fluids, gas, etc. Fun, yes. I’m not a tree hugger, just sayin.

Bob meant to add this post (he sent it to me accidentally):

” It’s wasn’t good back then either. They all got fined and had to get it out of the river. The Schuylkill River just north of the city. Cops traced serial number on engine.

This was in 1967. Just s bunch of beer drinking high school kids having fun playing a class prank.

But yeah, paint this current jeep up with some school colored paint and drive it around for a week or as long as it will last. Tie some plastic buckets onto the tailgate.”
