Thanks to Joe-in-Mesa for spotting, then buying/mailing me this great find out of an antique shop. He snagged it for $35. I’m happy with that price. It needs one of the windshield support arms fixed and some repainting, but otherwise it is in good shape.
After doing some research on eBay, I’ve discovered this one is a little different than the ones listed there or on the CJ-3B page. Those all seem to have a central hole in the back that’s used for pulling a trailer (see examples at the bottom of the post). Instead of a hole, this one has two slots (I found one other with two slots).

looks like the floors and wheel wells been repaired with miniature diamond plate .
That’s funny, William :-). Did they even have or use diamond plate back when these Al-Toys were cast?

Great find.. and it has some really good detail as well. A Willys (toy) Reunion at Dave’s should be in the works.. -Or pictures anyway.

Hey Dave, I have an Oglesby just like yours with the two slots rather than a hole for the trailer. I also picked up the trailer for one at the Willys Reunion.

I assume there was some kind of a thing that went into the slotted holes to hold a hitch.
Maybe the slots are there to mount the very, very, rare Oglesby Monroe 3pt. lift ??

I am not aware of any replacement parts. There are sometimes broken/damaged ones on eBay that you can use as parts jeeps.

Depending on condition, they can go for over $100 on eBay. I’d say that the value of these and the Al-Toys have dropped in value since the 2000s based on the ebay auctions I’ve seen.

Hello everyone. Did anybody figure out what the two slots were for? I have a decent collection of Oglesby and Al-toy jeeps and only have the oglesby with the hole for the trailer. Oglesby did use a more aggressive tire on a few of the jeeps also. I do have some duplicates and some project jeeps if anyone is interested feel free to email me. Thanks

I’ve yet to learn why the slots are there. My guesses are a) for a different kind of trailer or b) for a rear seat.

There was a rear plow with these I never seen one but on a ad for the jeep
