    I never liked the NOSE on these remodeled Commandos, and judging from the low sales figures, I wasn’t the only one. I think the original attempt was to boost sales of the Commando, but this design had the reverse effect. Now if Brook Stevens had been the design engineer, I’m sure it would have been successful.

    jeeps went all to hell when AMERICAN MOTORS bought em — I tell people that DAILY — the last good ( non-plastic ) jeeps were assembled prior to 1972 — sure AMERICAN MOTORS did improve a few things , the steering , brakes , box the frames , get rid of the f-head — but , I wouldn’t own one — why should I ?
