While returning from our short camping trip, we spotted this 3B motoring down I-84 at 60MPH heading from Pendleton to Echo, Oregon. It was perfect weather for a jeep drive.

JEEP STER: I had a 3B and I pushed the factory F134 engine to go 65mph! Hardtop, duallies, easily another 500+ lbs on top and I was still able to go about 60mph barely…

Hi. I’m Chase the guy that was driving that day I was coming back from a Boise trip to Portland. 400miles and back including throughout the Boise National Forest. I was doing 60 on the flat rounds but mostly was going 55. It’s a 1962 3B with stock f-134 she on a cj5 frame (3″ more leg room) siting on 7.50-16 tires. I did a frame up restoration tuk 3 years.

    Hi Chase,

That’s awesome! Nice you found the post. It looked like it was running smoothly and straight down the freeway. Great work!
