1986-wagoneer

“1986 Jeep Wagoneer Limited 79,500 original miles. Excellent condition (minus a couple dents and bruises, hence the severely reduced price)
**suffered minor accident damage that does not effect ride or drive quality, goes down the road straight at hi-way speeds.**

It’s fun to drive and always gets friendly honks and waves from Jeep aficionados. The 4×4 works excellent! Overall, this Jeep is in very good condition for its age, but not perfect. Cosmetically, this Jeep is pretty much intact – which, if you’ve looked for these, is very hard to find in VT with ZERO rust. All of the original moldings are still attached, and the original woodgrain stickers are still in very good condition. All power options work: power windows, locks, mirrors, driver and passenger power seats. Transmission shifts as it should with no issues, and the 4×4 system works great. This could be an excellent daily driver in its current condition, for someone who wants a unique and capable off-roader, or complete the paint and exterior work and make it a true collectors car.

The Jeep Wagoneer is the first luxury 4×4, sold and produced for Jeep. Marketed as a station wagon, the design became known as “sport utility vehicle” (SUV) when Jeep first used the term for the 1974 Cherokee version. The Wagoneer stayed in production for 29 model-years (1963-1991) with almost unchanged body-structure, making it the third longest-produced single generation car in U.S. automotive history. The Wagoneer pioneered the sport utility vehicle concept. Although sharing a pickup truck chassis (like its predecessor), the Wagoneer had a sophisticated station wagon body design, that was more car-like than any other 4×4 on the market.

Not a true Wagoneer FSJ. This is the small Cherokee based ‘Wagoneer’; a trim package. I owned a 1988 FSJ Wagoneer, the Big Dawg. Dang, I loved that vehicle. It got 9 miles to the gallon in town and 10 on the highway. A/C was on the bottom of the dash and would freeze you knees off while the second and third seat passengers sweated in the Texas heat.

    HI Rhawthorne,

It looks like this jeep has sold. I’ve updated the post.
