UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $18,500.

Adam pointed out that there are pics of this from years ago and one shows this may have four wheel steer: http://www.ewillys.com/2007/06/27/1942-gpw-4-wheel-steer-prescott-valley-az-17000/

It’s missing some gauges and lacks data plates on the glove box. Seller claims it was the first prototype for the Air Force??? Appears to have GPW lids.

“1942 original Jeep Willys was in the second war first prototype for the Air Force. The engine was rebuilding. 178 miles”

Ahh, what to say…again. Only thing prototype on that may be the tires. A ‘bubba’d’ jeep to be sure. Top a wee bit small? This is not an $18k jeep.

’42 would’ve had a script tub. (repaired?) Maybe an Agri-Jeep tribute?? Somebody get Fred Caldwell on the horn…

For $18,500 and such a rare find, I would have to think they would have put a little more effort and description on the rareness, the 4 wheel steering. I would say as said above, the red flag is flying for “buyer beware”. Also, with those radical tread tires combined with the 4 wheel steer, it would not be a ‘comfortable ride’ and maybe a safety hazard in a turn. “Riders beware too”.
