UPDATE: Still Available.

(09/26/2017) A factory bed conversion for a CJ-5? Anyone ever run across that? It’s listed as a 1952, but it has CJ-5 grille and body at the very least. Looks like a ventilating windshield, too (thanks Dave).

Am I supposed to believe this description? If so, it would probably be the rarest of rarest Jeeps out there. We have a lot of these special modifications around here made in individuals home factories. LOL…and they look even stranger.

Barry, I don’t know. But, it’s also not beyond the realm of possibility that some outfit somewhere offered a customization package like this. My guess is that this wasn’t factory, as we have no evidence that this package was ever offered. However, I also have no evidence that it wasn’t.

I’m thinking if I owned a rare factory conversion that I would document THAT part of the vehicle with pictures instead of the part of it that looks like all the rest of the vehicles on the assembly line…..just sayin’.

I almost put 1 of my spare tire on the front of the bumper like his but it kinda look cartoonish atleast on my 3b so decided against it. For $4k, it looks like a nice jeep regardless if bed is factory or not.

So the seller says its a 1952 jeep and the conversion was done in 1957 , I guess it took the factory 5 years to do it ?

Terry. Better late than never? lol … That’s a fair point, though the seller seems incorrect about the manufacture date.
