UPDATE: Still Available.  It’s listed as a 1948, but as Joe points out, it looks more like a 3A.

Looks rough.

Aside from the windshield, this jeep looks more 3A than 2A to me. Also, again aside from the windshield, I don’t see any rust through on this jeep…. just horrible paint and surface rust with pitting. It’s too bad they welded on that structure on the back of the body. Last Comment… It looks like they took great care to protect the tail light so may have a nice original tail light.

Joe, I agree. I see no bumper gussets and no bow holders. I’ll update it. Thanks!

The 1948 2A as opposed to 3A is something that keeps popping up in Willys Jeep history. My dad bought what was NEW JERSEY titled as a 1950 CJ3A. While it was at Mide Motors Jeep dealership, The salesman, “Fat Pete” (Lentils Pete) told my dad it was actually a 1948 model. At that time in 1962, found that hard to believe. I now know, this was common practice, but it seemed to be especially common in the 1948-1950 model years, that’s the part that still lacks a sensible explanation. Inquiring minds want to know.
